Community Outreach
Community Outreach Grants and Fellowships
In 2011 we're expanding our educational and outreach components to include two-year colleges, graduate and professional students and non-profit community organizations and will transition from dispersing traditional scholarships to awarding educational and community grants and fellowships.
Educational grants will be awarded to students attending two and
four-year colleges and universities, and community and non-profit
organizations in Northern Virginia can apply for the Community Outreach
Grants to address children's, women's health and public health
issues. Fellowships will be awarded to graduate students.
Our aim is to stimulate the develoopment of community-driven
projects which effectively address local concerns, increase
opportunities for positive community involvement, develop community
leadership and organizational expertise, and enable community groups in
Northern Virginia to take part in the wel-being, safety and overall
quality of life of community members.
